Maritime Protection

Our shipping department focuses on the protection of maritime assets including commercial ships, super yachts and offshore platforms and is supported by a growing global infrastructure with offices in Malta, The United Kingdom, Germany, Djibouti, Oman, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and China. In view of the continued piracy threat in the IBF (International Bargaining Forum) defined high risk areas MAST is able to provide ship and yacht owners with comprehensive armed security protection.

As a maritime security company with experience in running complex large scale global operations; we presently run multiple operations in the high risk areas of the Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean & Gulf of Guinea. Our efficient service will place on-board protection teams with your ship or yacht in areas of high risk and our men will use their training and skills to train your crew and increase the defences of the ship, while minimising deviation and delay for your ship in embarking or disembarking our teams.

With extensive armed transits experience since 2005, MAST has serviced over 80 different shipping companies, completing in excess of 2500 transits with an unblemished record in relation to firearms management. MAST pioneered the embarking of firearms and has a comprehensive understanding of the Port State requirements in order to operate legally and safely from different territories.

Holding membership of leading professional bodies, MAST is also ISO 9001:2008 accredited for the provision of global maritime security services to the shipping and yachting and fully embraces industry best management practices. The Company is one of the founding signatories of the International Code of Conduct and has been scrutinised and accepted by some of world’s leading shipping companies, charterers and insurers. The MAST Rules of Engagement are based on sound legal principles, including the right of self-defence enshrined in international Law. Nothing in the rules circumvents the Master's overriding authority.
