Russian convoys suspended in Gulf of Aden

Be advised, please, that the Russian Navy suspended escorting of merchant vessels in the Gulf of Aden as from 11 January 2010.

The resumption date of Russian navy lead convoys is scheduled on 21 January 2010, starting from point «A»(12°20' N - 43°50' E) at 10:00 Lt (Eastbound convoy).

On 18 or 19 January 2010 we shall advise you of the further convoy schedule.

The warship «Admiral Chabanenko» has completed her mission in the area and will be substituted for another Russian warship.

In the meanwhile the Russian Maritime Security Service (RMSS) is disposed to receive applications from shipping companies, which would like to join their vessels in the convoy above or further convoys.
