Increased Hijacks

There has been an upsurge of attacks over the New Year period with 3 ships taken over the space of 3 days. The pirates remain flexible in their operating area which extends from the Gulf of Aden region out into the Indian Ocean. MV Asian Glory once of the hijacked ships was the first car carrier to be taken and demonstrates the pirate's capability to seize ships with a high freeboard and max speed of 16knts.
