How does MAST provide armed security services?

The provision of armed security for our clients will only take place once a risk assessment has been carried out and the legal and insurance restrictions fully examined.

Once this is complete we will identify:

  • Voyage details.
  • Ship's vulnerability
  • Port of embarkation
  • Port of disembarkation

MAST has a license to operate with firearms in Djibouti and Oman.

Each country has imposed a supervisory regime that ensures that all firearms are properly secured and accounted for and only released when embarked upon a ship.

For transits in the Gulf of Aden, MAST is able to provide armed security within 2 days of a request.

'In 2008 MAST was the first security provider to successfully provide armed security between the Port of Djibouti and Salalah following several months of protracted negotiation with the authorities'
